Fine Art Cards

Fine Art Cards - Handmade with Tatted Lace & Natural Elements
Each of my fine art cards is a small work of art, combining traditional tatted lace with natural materials I gather from Vermont's landscapes.
Delicate birch bark, pressed botanicals, natural fibers, and handcrafted tatted elements come together to create unique greeting cards that feel more like keepsakes than stationery. No two cards are exactly alike—each one reflects my intuitive approach to art-making, where materials guide the design and nature provides the inspiration. These cards are perfect for those moments when a standard greeting card won't do—when you want to give something that feels personal, handmade, and connected to the natural world. The tatted lace adds an heirloom quality, while the birch bark and natural elements ground each piece in Vermont's seasonal beauty. They're substantial enough to frame after the occasion has passed, transforming a simple card into lasting art.
Fine art cards are available for $15-20 each, depending on complexity and materials. They're blank inside, giving you space to write your own message, and come ready to mail or gift.
Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply want to send something beautiful to someone you care about, these handcrafted cards carry a level of thoughtfulness that can't be found in a store.

My card-making process mirrors my approach to painting—I gather materials from nature walks, collect birch bark that has naturally fallen from trees, press flowers and ferns through the seasons, and create tatted lace elements specifically for each design. When I sit down to make cards, I let the materials guide me. A piece of birch bark might suggest a winter scene, so I'll add a metallic evergreen tree and a ribbon bow. Vintage sheet music paired with tatted lace becomes a card perfect for music lovers. Pressed ferns and handwritten script on weathered wood evoke nostalgia and connection to the past.
Because each card is made from natural materials that vary in color, texture, and form, no two are identical. The birch bark I use shows the organic patterns of the tree it came from—some pieces are lighter, some darker, some with more texture.
The pressed botanicals change with the seasons—spring brings delicate wildflowers, summer offers vibrant blooms, autumn provides colorful leaves and seedpods. This means your card is truly one of a kind, shaped by Vermont's landscape and the particular moment when those materials were gathered.
These cards work beautifully for any occasion—holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, thank you notes, or simply "thinking of you" moments. They're substantial enough to stand on a mantel or bookshelf, and many people choose to frame them after the occasion has passed, giving the card a second life as small-scale artwork.
Each card is blank inside, providing space for your personal message, and comes in a protective cellophane sleeve ready for gifting or mailing. At $15-20 each depending on materials and complexity, they're an affordable way to send something truly handmade and meaningful—art that carries a message.
